This series is an ongoing work that allows me to reflect as I do research on my ancestry. The legacy of indenture is one that I was born into. It is one fraught with trauma, invisibility, and a is not confined to linear notions of time. 
 

While reading scholarship related to indenture I often think about the matriarchies through which I am a part, or rather, a whole. Another seed, another step, another coming and going from a long line of women. These women whom I will never know but am very much a part of and they are truly a part of me.
